the mc callisters sleep in on the previous day of the flight Kate and peter are to board on their vacation to miami for a holiday .
kevin is bugged by his brother buzz who humiliates kevin in front of the whole audience , kevin then takes his revenge on his brother by pushing buzz which topples a cardboard Christmas tree over the pianist .
buzz realizes his mistake and apologizes to kevin , but kevin refuses to accept his confrontation .
he again heads to the third floor and replies angrily to his parents upon being questioned. next day peter and kate take to the airport in chicago , kevin accidentally follows the man wearing the same coat as his father . he lands up in the new york airport with his dads wallet and a handbag.
kate on realizing kevin hasn't come along with them , faints on the spot. peter is buffed and agitated.
kevin then lands up in the airport in new york , then follows the central park where he finds a lady dressed in rags.
here the duo bandits are on a theft spree to steal 14 cents from a santa clause.
after he meets the owner of toy chest mr duncan he is offered a pair of turtledoves made of ceramic, asking kevin to offer it to someone as a token of friendship.
hector realizes that peter has lost his credit card , and is considered stolen. reading kevins cover story on a popular magazine daily he runs to fetch kevin who tries to run away from the clutches of hotel staff.
accidentally he runs into the hands of harry and marv who kidnap him and demand a ransom after contacting his parents who are in miami. they threaten to have kevin killed.
the plot turns into a serious note partly and pranks played by kevin in order to flee their clutches. with the help of a lady's presence kevin exploits the situation and makes his way to the hospital.
the hassles kevins parents have to undergo , kevins eventual coming back home is cast in the hilarious second part of home alone series
