plot:
Set in 2154 in the planet of polyphemus, there is a lush green land of pandora, which is inhabited by the 10 foot tall beings called avatars, which are superior to the human race in terms of physique and stature.
jack sully the protagonist of the movie is a disabled marine in the US who comes to work with dr grace a biologist
researching on genetically modified humans, resembling the native avatars. These are genetically modified humans, bluish in color.
He decides to set himself in a mission to acquire it unaware of the ruthless intentions of marines a senior colonel, who plans to wreck the civilization that prevails.
in pandora, jack encounters neyitri a woman whose family traditionally ruled the people of pandora, he encounters her while facing strange carnivores pouncing on him to finish him off, while trying to do this neyithri saves him. He tries to befriend her, but she shows signs of initial hostility. She takes him to the tree of life, eywa the goddess of the avatars.
the native n'yathis rever eywa as a giver of life. The dead is believed to go back to the roots of eywa. jake begins to take interest in the culture of the n'yatis and starts to like neyithri. She reciprocates and eventually they fall in love. she introduces him to the king of nyatis her father, who initially refuses his indoctrination into the faith of the n'yathi. he accepts him as a member of the tribe, but he has to learn the tricks and trades of the nyatise does so under the supervision of neyithri who teaches him to tame the creatures of the kingdom, especially the flying predators which are vehicles for them. he has to fight a flying predator and connect his neral receptors with them to own it.
once he does that, he owns his flying predator. When he wins his predator he is cheered by the people and neyithri, who becomes more fond of him . they mate to eternity under eywa.
next morning, the colonel antagonist of the movie brings his forces to pandora destroying the people and trees. This angers neyithri who heads for a splitsville with jack. When jack tries to reconcile she refuses him .
the plot is thus on how things bring about fight for justice and redemption.
avatar thus became an instrument to lead the oppressed and motivate them to fight the unjust.
